Senior Designer

About the role

Maxxit Systems Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Designer to lead architectural design projects from concept through fabrication and installation. Reporting to the Senior Design Manager, you will work closely with architects, engineers and the production team to deliver high-quality interior and exterior components for commercial and retail projects across North America.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with architects, engineers, fabricators and project managers to develop creative yet feasible designs.
• Produce detailed drawings, 3D models and construction documents for fabrication and installation teams.
• Develop design solutions that balance aesthetics, material selection, structural integrity and manufacturing constraints.
• Oversee prototyping, testing and quality assurance of design concepts.
• Ensure all design work complies with building codes, industry standards and company specifications.
• Coordinate with the fabrication team to resolve design issues during production.
• Mentor junior designers and promote best practices within the design department.
• Stay current with industry trends, new materials and advanced fabrication techniques.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Architecture, Industrial Design or a related field.
• 5-7 years of professional design experience in architectural fabrication or a similar industry.
• Proven track record of managing design projects from concept to production.
• Strong problem-solving, critical-thinking and communication skills.

What we offer

• Competitive annual salary ranging from $90,000 to $115,000 CAD.
• Permanent full-time position with a hybrid onsite schedule (4 days per week in Toronto or Chicago).
