About the role
The Michael Smith Laboratories at the University of British Columbia seeks a Research Associate to investigate the molecular mechanisms governing mammalian digit tip regeneration. Working under Dr. Freda Miller, the successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary team focused on defining why the digit tip uniquely regenerates after injury.
Key responsibilities
- Design and execute experiments to uncover cellular and molecular pathways involved in digit tip regeneration.
- Apply single‑cell spatial transcriptomics to map gene expression patterns.
- Generate and analyze data from genetic mouse models.
- Utilize advanced imaging technologies for tissue visualization.
- Collaborate with lab members, contribute to data interpretation, and prepare manuscripts.
Required profile
- Ph.D. in regeneration biology or a closely related field.
- Post‑doctoral experience with single‑cell spatial transcriptomics and genetic mouse models.
- Strong background in molecular cell biology.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative research environment.
