About the role
The Division of Hematology at the University of British Columbia is seeking a Research Assistant to support the Hematology Research Program (HRP). The role involves collaborating with physicians, nurses, pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to ensure clinical studies meet regulatory and institutional standards.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and submit regulatory documents and questionnaires to the Research Ethics Board (REB) in a timely manner.
- Maintain study databases, perform data entry, and record experimental observations.
- Assist in analyzing and summarizing experimental results and statistical data as requested by supervisors.
- Process blood samples, including venipuncture, centrifugation, and preparation for shipping according to written protocols.
- Serve as a primary contact with REB, industry sponsors, government agencies, and other granting bodies.
Required profile
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for frequent interaction with clinical staff and external agencies.
- Ability to work under supervision of the Director, Research Program Manager, and principal investigators.
- Proof of full COVID‑19 vaccination prior to start date, as required by provincial health mandates.
