Project Officer – Architectural

About the role

The Ottawa Catholic School Board is looking for a detail‑oriented Project Officer (Architectural) to join its Planning & Facilities team. You will lead the architectural side of school projects, turning CAD concepts into completed construction while ensuring compliance with Board policies, industry standards, and Ministry of Education regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and execute architectural and structural projects for safe, modern learning environments.
• Act as the primary liaison between contractors, professional consultants, and school officials (principals and superintendents).
• Monitor progress of renewal and major maintenance projects to ensure quality, schedule, and budget adherence.
• Develop design documentation using CAD software and support project budgeting and reporting.
• Collaborate with the Senior Manager of Planning & Construction and Project Coordinators to align projects with strategic goals.

Required profile

• Relevant architectural or construction engineering qualification.
• Experience managing school or institutional construction projects.
• Strong understanding of Ministry of Education regulations and building codes.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills with internal and external stakeholders.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD software for design and development.
