Probationary Full-Time Educational Assistant

About the role

St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Schools is seeking a probationary full‑time Educational Assistant to join Father Lacombe School in Lacombe, Alberta, starting September 1, 2026. The role supports classroom teachers and provides direct assistance to students, particularly those with exceptional abilities or medical needs.

Key responsibilities

• Assist teachers in delivering instruction and managing classroom activities.
• Provide individualized support to students with exceptional abilities or medical requirements.
• Help maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment.
• Collaborate with school staff to implement accommodation plans.

Required profile

• Experience working with students who have exceptional abilities and/or medical needs.
• Previous experience in a school setting is considered an asset.
• Ability to obtain a recent (within six months) Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Sector Check, and Alberta Children’s Intervention Record Check.
• Catholic affiliation is not required but is viewed as an asset.
