Part-time Brass Lecturer (Trumpet/Euphonium)

About the role

The Music Department seeks a part‑time lecturer to provide studio instruction in brass (trumpet and/or euphonium) for the Fall and Winter semesters of 2026‑2027. This stipendiary appointment offers the chance to work closely with a small group of advanced students in a university setting.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver weekly one‑hour studio lessons to up to four brass students (MUSC 1501–4591).
• Conduct studio class sessions and oversee student performance preparation.
• Assess student performance juries and provide constructive feedback.
• Maintain course schedules for both the September‑December and January‑April terms.

Required profile

• Graduate degree in brass performance (preferred).
• Established record as a professional brass performer.
• Experience teaching studio courses at the university level.

Required skills

• Proficiency in trumpet performance.
• Proficiency in euphonium performance.
• Strong brass performance and pedagogical skills.
