Operations Supervisor – Ice Arena

About the role

The Operations Supervisor for an ice arena leads daily facility operations, ensuring a safe, efficient and high‑quality experience for participants. This hands‑on role combines technical ice‑maintenance expertise with staff supervision and a strong safety focus.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance in line with local building and fire codes.
• Supervise ice‑maintenance tasks such as Engo operation, edger use, ice depth measurement, chopping/spudding, levelling and painting.
• Oversee minor electrical, plumbing, drywall repairs, painting, dasher‑board and arena‑glass maintenance, and hockey‑net refurbishing.
• Manage third‑party contracts for landscaping, snow removal and other facility services.
• Maintain equipment checklists, records and reports, including utilities and ice‑plant monitoring.
• Ensure entrances, grounds and parking areas remain clean, clear and safe.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Valid driver’s licence.
• Valid Refrigeration Operator (RO) certificate or higher.
• 1‑3 years of experience operating ice‑resurfacing equipment and supervising staff.
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
