Mental Wellness Worker

About the role

The Mental Wellness Worker joins the Student Services and Wellness Department of Frontier School Division to provide direct clinical services, consultation, and education that support student mental health across the division.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver individual case work, group sessions, family supports, and consultation to promote holistic student wellness.
• Serve as the liaison among students, school support teams, families, and external agencies.
• Design and implement proactive, student‑centred, strength‑based programs and interventions.
• Assist school teams with crisis response, coordinating resources with community and divisional partners.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Work and eligibility for a Manitoba School Clinician certificate.
• Current registration in good standing with the appropriate licensing body.
• Extensive experience in individual and group counselling, crisis intervention, and trauma‑informed practice.
• Experience conducting case consultations, assessments, and mental‑wellness interventions.
• Strong knowledge of First Nation and Indigenous ways of knowing, being, and doing.
• Proven ability to work within multidisciplinary teams and collaborate with internal and external service providers.
• Familiarity with relevant legislation such as the Mental Health Act, CFS Act, and Vulnerable Persons legislation.
