IT Help Desk Specialist

About the role

The Carlisle Local School District is seeking a customer‑focused IT Help Desk Specialist to be the first point of contact for technical support across the district. You will assist teachers, students, and staff in maintaining a seamless learning environment by resolving hardware and software issues promptly.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and log IT support requests via phone, email, or ticketing system.
• Diagnose and resolve issues on desktops, laptops, tablets, printers, interactive whiteboards, and projectors.
• Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, applications, and classroom technology.
• Manage user accounts, including password resets and permission changes.
• Document resolutions and maintain a knowledge base.
• Escalate complex problems to senior IT staff as needed.
• Provide clear, patient guidance to non‑technical users.
• Support IT projects and technology roll‑outs district‑wide.

Required profile

• Proven experience in an IT help desk or technical support role.
• Strong customer‑service orientation with excellent communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a busy educational environment.
• Experience in an educational or public‑sector setting is a plus.
