About the role
We are seeking a General Duty Nurse (N2) to join the Thoracic/Vascular/PCU‑S unit at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg. Under the general supervision of the Manager, Health Services, you will deliver professional nursing care to patients with complex and unpredictable health needs.
Key responsibilities
- Provide independent nursing services, including assessment, planning and evaluation of patient care.
- Administer prescribed medical treatments and medications safely.
- Lead and coordinate the multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care and discharge planning.
- Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to unit policies, procedures and provincial legislation.
Required profile
- Graduate of an approved Registered Nursing program.
- Active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba.
- Completion of CPR training in accordance with employer policy.
- Surgical experience preferred.
- Ability to complete ECG Monitoring & Rhythm Analysis course within 12 months and Progressive Care Unit course within 18 months of hire.
Required skills
- Electrocardiogram (ECG) monitoring and rhythm analysis.
- Progressive Care Unit competencies.
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
