Financial Controller

About the role

ZW Management Inc. is looking for an experienced Financial Controller to lead day‑to‑day accounting operations and provide strategic financial guidance. This hands‑on role is ideal for a detail‑oriented professional who thrives in a fast‑paced construction environment and enjoys cross‑functional collaboration.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily banking, cash flow, reconciliations and deposits.
• Oversee accounts payable/receivable, vendor payments, EFTs, progress draws and project billings.
• Prepare monthly financial statements, project cost reports, account reconciliations and progress draw documentation.
• Administer weekly union and semi‑monthly payroll cycles and benefit programs.
• Perform Sage 300 setup and administration, including job and company configuration.
• Lead month‑end and year‑end close‑out, accruals and regulatory filings (HST, WSIB, EHT, corporate tax, etc.).
• Support financial forecasting, cost tracking, insurance reporting and budgeting.
• Maintain intercompany agreements, contract documentation, insurance, bonding and corporate records.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA or equivalent designation preferred.
• 5–10 years of progressive accounting experience, including 2–3 years in a senior or controller role.
• Construction accounting experience is a strong asset.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial reporting.
• Excellent organizational, analytical and communication abilities.
