Emergency Physician – Full/Part Time

About the role

Fraser Health and the Burnaby Hospital Emergency Physicians Group are seeking board‑certified Emergency Physicians for full‑time and part‑time positions in a high‑volume, multicultural emergency department serving the Greater Vancouver area. The department provides 24/7 emergency care to approximately 85,000 patients annually and is closely affiliated with the University of British Columbia medical school.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive emergency medical assessment, treatment, and disposition for adult and pediatric patients.
• Participate in rapid assessment zones, code‑blue response, and triage physician duties.
• Collaborate with consultants, nursing staff, and allied health professionals to ensure high‑quality patient care.
• Contribute to outpatient follow‑up clinics and coordinate further investigations as needed.
• Engage in teaching activities for medical students and residents during the UBC rotation.

Required profile

• Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCPC) in Emergency Medicine, or CCFP‑EM with emergency training, or ABEM certification.
• Eligibility for full licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC).

Required skills

• Board certification in Emergency Medicine.
• Ability to obtain and maintain licensure in British Columbia.
