Emergency Medicine Physician – Fraser Canyon Hospital

About the role

The Fraser Canyon Department of Emergency Medicine is seeking a full‑time and/or part‑time physician (CCFP with or without additional EM training) to provide 24/7 emergency care at Fraser Canyon Hospital, a 16‑bed community facility located in Hope, BC.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver emergency stabilization, triage and acute care for patients arriving via major highways and local community.
• Provide round‑the‑clock coverage in the emergency department, including on‑call duties.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe patient transitions and hospice services when needed.
• Participate in quality improvement and community health initiatives.

Required profile

• FRCPC (Emergency Medicine), CCFP‑EM, or ABEM certification.
• Eligibility for provisional licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC); CPSBC USA‑certified registration acceptable.
• Current ACLS, ATLS and PALS certifications.
• Willingness to work in a rural setting and serve a geographically isolated population.
