Controller – Finance Leadership Role

About the role

The Controller is responsible for ensuring financial accuracy, compliance, and reporting integrity across the organization. Working closely with the Head of Finance and the executive team, this role provides reliable financial data to support strategic decisions and operational planning.

Key responsibilities

• Own month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close processes, delivering accurate and timely financial reports.
• Prepare financial statements and management reports with consistent data integrity.
• Maintain and enforce accounting policies, internal controls, and governance standards.
• Ensure compliance with statutory, tax, and regulatory requirements in Canada and the United States.
• Lead audit preparation and manage relationships with external auditors.
• Oversee revenue recognition, margin tracking, cost allocation, payroll, and expense validation.
• Partner with Operations and Finance to support forecasting, variance analysis, and financial planning.
• Identify financial risks and control gaps, implementing mitigation strategies.

Required profile

• Professional accounting designation (CPA) required.
• 7–10+ years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, or controllership, preferably in a growth‑focused organization.
• Strong knowledge of Canadian and American accounting standards, revenue recognition, and regulatory compliance.
• Proven track record managing month‑end close, audits, and financial reporting processes.
• Solid understanding of internal controls, risk management, and financial governance frameworks.
