Communications Assistant

About the role

The office of Tim Louis, Member of Parliament for Kitchener-Conestoga, is looking for a dynamic Communications Assistant to join a collaborative, mission‑driven team. Based in the constituency office in Kitchener, you will help inform and engage constituents through compelling digital content and storytelling.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and execute social‑media strategy across platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, X and others.
• Create high‑quality visual content, including graphic design, photography and video editing for digital and print use.
• Design and produce multimedia assets such as short‑form videos, reels, informational graphics, newsletters and printed outreach materials.
• Maintain and update the Member’s website, ensuring content is current, accessible and engaging.
• Develop communications materials including social‑media posts, website updates, newsletters, email campaigns and printed mailers.
• Support event communications with on‑site photography, videography and live social‑media coverage.

Required profile

• Post‑secondary education in communications, graphic design, digital media, marketing or a related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in communications or marketing (internships and co‑ops considered).
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
• Creative thinker with a keen eye for visual storytelling and branding consistency.
