About the role
Join BCI’s corporate ESG group for a Winter 2027 co‑op where you will support ESG research and integration across multiple asset classes, helping the firm embed sustainability into its investment decisions.
Key responsibilities
- Research and analyze ESG risks and opportunities in BCI’s portfolio and the broader investment universe.
- Build and maintain financial models and economic scenarios to assess long‑term systemic risk impacts.
- Collect, organize, and analyze ESG data to support investment recommendations and company engagements.
- Develop and maintain Python‑based data pipelines, including data ingestion, cleaning, transformation, and analysis.
- Apply quantitative techniques such as regression analysis, factor research, and climate scenario modelling.
- Support day‑to‑day team activities, including meeting notes, process streamlining, and stewardship tasks.
- Improve data‑visualisation tools to add value to the investment process.
- Conduct research on UN Sustainable Development Goals and contribute to new investment strategy initiatives.
Required profile
- Fundamental knowledge of business, financial statements, and investment disciplines.
- Passion for investing, ESG, and continuous learning about economics and financial markets.
- Strong research, analytical, and problem‑solving abilities.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- High ethical standards, attention to detail, and a proactive, self‑starter attitude.
Required skills
- Advanced Excel for processing large data sets.
- Python (pandas, NumPy) for data pipelines and analysis.
- SQL for data querying.
- Data‑visualisation tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Plotly/Dash.
- Familiarity with Bloomberg, Databricks/PySpark, and Git.
- Experience using AI/LLM tools (Claude, ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot) in research and coding workflows.
