Visitor Experience Concierge Intern

About the role

The Royal Ontario Museum is looking for a motivated Visitor Experience Concierge Intern to join its Visitor Experience team for the Summer 2026 season. This full‑time, grant‑funded position offers hands‑on experience in public engagement, visitor services, and museum operations within one of Canada’s leading cultural institutions.

Key responsibilities

• Greet and assist visitors, creating a welcoming and memorable museum experience.
• Manage visitor flow, including queue control, crowd navigation, and wayfinding throughout the galleries.
• Provide accurate information about exhibitions, memberships, programs, amenities, and museum services.
• Support operations at coat check, entry points, ticket scanning areas, and other visitor service locations.
• Assist guests with ticketing, membership inquiries, and general museum‑related questions.
• Promote an inclusive, accessible environment for all audiences.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during peak attendance periods.
• Identify opportunities to enhance visitor engagement and contribute to a positive public‑facing environment.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in or recently completed post‑secondary studies in Tourism, Hospitality, Arts Administration, Communications, Public Relations or a related field.
• Strong interest in museum, cultural, or tourism sectors.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, visitor‑focused environment.
