Vice President, Portfolio Management

About the role

The Canada Development Investment Corporation (CDEV) is seeking a Vice President of Portfolio Management to lead the oversight, evaluation, and performance of its diverse portfolio of strategic assets. Reporting to senior leadership, you will shape the governance, reporting, and performance frameworks that enable informed decision‑making across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement a comprehensive portfolio management approach, including performance metrics, governance structures, and reporting processes.
• Collaborate with subsidiary CEOs, Boards, and key stakeholders to define value‑creation initiatives and support the launch of new subsidiaries or programs.
• Provide performance‑management support to the Execution and Advisory team, ensuring alignment with CDEV’s strategic objectives.
• Mentor and develop team members, embedding systematic active‑asset‑management practices throughout the corporation.
• Prepare concise, actionable insights for senior leadership and the Board to guide strategic decisions.

Required profile

• Senior commercial leader with extensive experience overseeing complex portfolios and governance frameworks.
• Strong judgment in managing performance, risk, and value across diverse assets.
• Proven ability to influence and collaborate with government entities, Boards, and senior management teams.
• Clear communicator who can translate complex issues into actionable recommendations.
