Underground Mine Trainer

About the role

New Gold is seeking an Underground Mine Trainer to deliver both theoretical and hands‑on training on underground mining equipment at the Rainy River Mine in northwestern Ontario. Reporting to the Training Supervisor, you will ensure that all training aligns with MAESD modules, OHSA standards, Regulation 854, and internal company procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver lesson plans, standard operating procedures (SOPs) and job hazard analyses (JHAs) for underground equipment.
• Coordinate training schedules with operations, maintenance and safety teams.
• Maintain accurate training records and assess trainee competency.
• Continuously update training content to reflect regulatory changes and best practices.
• Foster strong communication with stakeholders to ensure training objectives are met.

Required profile

• Experience working in a cross‑cultural environment, preferably in Northwestern Ontario.
• Knowledge of the unique challenges of remote mining communities.
• Eligibility for priority consideration under the Impact Benefits Agreement (IBA) or residence in Northwest Ontario communities (Indigenous status must be declared).
• Ability to work 7‑day or 14‑day rotating schedules.
