Technical Lead – Python/Django (Full‑Time)

About the role

Remarcable is seeking a Team Lead, Software Engineering to guide a focused, high‑performing agile pod of developers. The role splits between hands‑on engineering and technical management, contributing to the core Django‑based platform while driving daily agile operations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead sprint ceremonies (planning, grooming, daily stand‑ups) to ensure smooth execution.
• Write, review, and maintain clean, performant, and secure production code across Python/Django backend, Angular/React frontend, and PostgreSQL databases.
• Mentor developers through code reviews, design sessions, and uphold security and architectural standards.
• Collaborate with Product Managers to align technical specs, architecture, and sprint deliverables with the product roadmap.
• Oversee system health, database performance, ORM query optimization, and resilience of 3rd‑party ERP integration pipelines (REST APIs, webhooks, OCR extraction).

Required profile

• 6+ years of software engineering experience in a fast‑paced B2B SaaS or product startup.
• Demonstrated leadership potential and desire to unblock and mentor team members.
• Strong product intuition and ability to balance architectural quality with shipping speed.
• Based in Vancouver (or willing to relocate) for on‑site stand‑ups.
• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

Required skills

• Python, Django, REST APIs, PostgreSQL.
• Modern frontend frameworks: Angular, React (or Vue).
• Docker, containerised environments, Terraform and cloud infrastructure management.
• Experience with integration pipelines, webhooks, OCR/document extraction.
• Familiarity with AI‑assisted coding tools such as Claude or Cursor.
