Systems Upgrade Specialist – Linux (Remote, Canada)

About the role

We are looking for a Systems Upgrade Specialist with deep Linux expertise to manage remote software upgrades for our Call Handling customers across Canada. The role involves planning, scheduling and executing upgrades in high‑availability, mission‑critical environments while liaising with customers and internal engineering teams.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute remote software upgrades to keep customer systems on supported releases.
• Coordinate maintenance windows with customers and communicate upgrade changes.
• Collaborate with R&D and Engineering to refine upgrade processes and validate software compatibility.
• Manage critical issues during upgrades, providing timely updates to stakeholders.
• Document technical issues, resolutions, and produce whitepapers, procedures and bulletins.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of hands‑on experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems in mission‑critical, high‑availability systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Calm and effective under pressure, with excellent attention to detail and documentation quality.
