Student Advising Supervisor

About the role

The Student Advising Supervisor supports prospective and current students by providing program, career, and wellness guidance. Reporting to the Student Success Centre Manager, the role also leads a team of administrative staff and casuals to ensure high‑quality student services.

Key responsibilities

• Communicate program requirements, course registration policies, and career pathways to students and prospects.
• Review and update student records, manage academic appeals, overrides, withdrawals, and program transfers in collaboration with enrollment services.
• Supervise a team of Student Affairs Coordinators, Administrative Coordinators, Service Representatives and AMUSE casuals, handling work assignments, training, and performance reviews.
• Oversee exam administration, online platforms for job postings and appointments, and career‑advising activities such as CV and interview preparation.
• Implement communication strategies across social media and email, and coordinate recruitment, orientation, and engagement events.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (asset) and minimum three years of relevant experience in an educational institution.
• Strong organizational, communication, and customer‑service abilities, with capacity to handle complex student situations sensitively.
• Eligibility to work in Canada and willingness to work in Quebec.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
• Experience using virtual meeting platforms such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and WebEx.
• Familiarity with university information systems like Banner SIS and Minerva.
