Software Engineer Co-op – Winter 2027

About the role

The British Columbia Investment Management Corporation is looking for a Software Engineer Co‑op to join its Enterprise Solutions team for the Winter 2027 term. You will support internal business clients by assisting in the development, maintenance, and enhancement of a portfolio of vendor and web‑based applications.

Key responsibilities

• Provide analytical and programming support for new application development and enhancements of existing custom, hosted, and packaged solutions.
• Resolve day‑to‑day issues on complex systems across multiple platforms and document solutions.
• Translate user requirements into technical specifications, create workflow diagrams, and conduct business analysis sessions.
• Participate in change control processes, software releases, and application upgrades, ensuring proper testing and approvals.
• Maintain support documentation in Jira and Confluence and contribute to Kanban/Scrum activities.

Required profile

• University‑level coursework in computer science or a related field.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and technical writing abilities.
• Ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing.
• Team‑oriented mindset with a drive to learn and grow in a dynamic environment.
