Skilled Labourer – FIFO Rotation in Nunavut

About the role

ATCO Frontec is looking for temporary Skilled Labourers to join its Operations team in Nunavut. The role supports construction and trades staff on a FIFO schedule, with travel, accommodation and meals provided.

Key responsibilities

• Remove rubble and debris using rakes, shovels, wheelbarrows and other equipment.
• Oil and grease hoists and similar machinery.
• Perform manual excavation and trenching with hand and air‑operated tools.
• Load, unload and transport cargo and construction materials using skid steers, loaders and pickup trucks.
• Erect and dismantle scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring and barricades.
• Operate hand and power tools safely.
• Assist heavy‑equipment operators with attachments and signal movements.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Minimum two years of experience in a similar labour‑intensive role.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety and ability to work in extreme weather.
• Physically capable of lifting, pulling and performing strenuous tasks.
• Experience in remote or northern environments is an asset.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read drawings and blueprints.
• Team‑oriented mindset with a focus on personal and team safety.
