Site Superintendent – Remote Nunavut Projects

About the role

Penn-Co is seeking an experienced Site Superintendent to lead remote construction projects across Nunavut on a 21/7 rotation. This hands‑on leadership role focuses on delivering safe, on‑time, and high‑quality infrastructure while supporting the development of local Inuit workers.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily site operations in remote Arctic environments, ensuring safety, schedule, budget, and quality standards.
• Manage crews and subcontractors with clear communication and accountability.
• Develop short‑term schedules and look‑ahead plans, proactively resolving issues.
• Ensure compliance with building codes, environmental regulations, and sustainability requirements.
• Maintain accurate project documentation, including daily logs, change orders, RFIs, and inspection reports.
• Coordinate trades, consultants, and stakeholders, and oversee logistics and material deliveries.
• Act as the primary on‑site representative of Penn‑Co and collaborate with HR on staffing and performance.
• Foster a respectful, high‑performing jobsite culture and mentor local Inuit workers.

Required profile

• 3–5+ years of experience in commercial or industrial construction.
• Proven ability to lead site operations and deliver projects successfully.
• Experience in remote, northern, or logistically complex environments is an asset.
• Strong understanding of health and safety regulations, quality control, and construction project management.
• Excellent organizational, problem‑solving, and leadership skills.
• Cultural awareness and experience working with Indigenous communities is valued.
