Shop Manager

About the role

The Shop Manager will oversee daily operations of the shop, storage yard, fleet, and company equipment. This hands‑on role ensures vehicles and equipment remain operational, safe, and compliant while supporting the organization’s growth and sustainability goals.

Key responsibilities

• Source and procure parts, materials, and equipment to keep operations running smoothly.
• Oversee fleet operations, dispatch drivers, and schedule routes.
• Plan, monitor, and complete preventative maintenance for all vehicles and equipment.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance, inspections, and repairs.
• Manage inventory of spare parts, materials, and equipment.
• Ensure the shop, yard, and fleet remain clean and organized.
• Schedule routine servicing (oil changes, tire rotations, etc.) and monitor fuel usage.
• Reconcile corporate fuel accounts and manage fuel cards.
• Collaborate with internal teams to improve fleet efficiency and performance.
• Analyze fleet data, report trends, and recommend improvements.
• Assist in developing fleet management policies and provide driver support.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.

Required profile

• Valid driver’s licence (Class G preferred; higher classification an asset).
• Proven experience in fleet management, shop operations, or a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance, inventory management, and logistics coordination.
• Excellent organisational and time‑management abilities.
• Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.
• Proficiency in record‑keeping and reporting.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
