Senior Superintendent – Site Based

About the role

Matheson Constructors is seeking an experienced Senior Superintendent to lead field operations on construction projects across Ontario. You will be responsible for delivering projects safely, on schedule, and within budget while fostering strong client and team relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all on‑site construction activities from mobilization through closeout, developing and executing construction plans and schedules.
• Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, conduct regular site meetings, and manage workforce allocation, including union labour requirements.
• Monitor productivity, labour performance, cost control, forecasting and ensure compliance with drawings, specifications and contractual obligations.
• Champion safety and quality programs, maintain accurate safety documentation, and oversee deficiency remediation.
• Prepare daily site diaries, timesheets, purchase orders, invoices and maintain As‑Built records.
• Lead final inspections, warranty work, and site demobilization to ensure complete project closeout.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum 10 years supervisory experience in ICI construction, managing large commercial, institutional or industrial projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, scheduling, quality control, cost management and contract administration.
• Experience working in unionized environments and interpreting collective agreements.
• Valid Ontario Class G driver’s licence; First Aid certification is an asset.
