Senior Strategic Sourcing Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Strategic Sourcing Specialist to lead North American sourcing initiatives for a key Direct Purchasing category at Lactalis Canada. The role will be part of the Purchasing Team North America, contributing to sourcing excellence and supporting the company’s growth.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute local and regional sourcing strategies based on detailed spend analysis and market research.
• Lead the implementation and management of category strategies, ensuring alignment with business unit specifications.
• Support the purchasing teams in Canada and the US with supplier relationship management, quality documentation, pricing, design timelines, and business case development.
• Identify and drive productivity and cost‑saving projects across Lactalis Canada and its North American affiliates.
• Manage the bid process, including preparation of bid documents, analysis, negotiation, and recommendation of vendor contracts.
• Collaborate with global procurement on negotiation initiatives, providing pricing data and vendor information.
• Execute negotiation and value‑analysis initiatives to achieve budget objectives.

Required profile

• Proven experience in strategic sourcing or procurement within a manufacturing or food‑production environment.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret historical and current spend data.
• Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively across Canada and the United States.
• Under guidance of a manager, capable of leading category‑specific sourcing projects.
