Senior Manager, Section on General and Family Practice

About the role

The Ontario Medical Association is seeking a Senior Manager to lead its Section on General and Family Practice (SGFP). This role will coordinate strategic initiatives, policy development, and operational activities while supporting SGFP leadership and OMA’s broader mission.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and support SGFP executive and constituency operations, ensuring resources, logistics, and deliverables align with priorities.
• Develop and maintain trusted relationships with SGFP executives, the SGFP CEO, and constituency leaders, providing advice on OMA policies and processes.
• Coordinate policy development, research, communications, and strategic initiatives across internal and external stakeholders.
• Assist the OMA CEO with SGFP relationship management, including meeting participation, note‑taking, and action‑item tracking.
• Oversee SGFP financial planning, budget development, forecasting, and expenditure monitoring in partnership with OMA Finance.

Required profile

• Undergraduate degree in Health Science, Political Science, or a related field.
• Six to nine years of experience in healthcare administration, public speaking, and political acuity.
• Applied knowledge of Ontario’s healthcare sector and primary‑care issues.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Experience supporting senior leaders and managing stakeholder relationships.
