Senior In-house Counsel (Insurance Defence)

About the Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and autonomous In-house Counsel specializing in Insurance Defence to join the legal team of a prominent insurance company based in Edmonton. This is a unique opportunity to manage a diverse legal portfolio and play a pivotal role in shaping the company's legal strategy.

Main Missions

• Manage a diverse range of insurance litigation and legal matters, including bodily injury, commercial property, and commercial liability.
• Oversee legal aspects related to new construction warranties.
• Lead the development and implementation of new legal practice lines, specifically Professional Liability and Directors & Officers (D&O) insurance.
• Provide strategic legal advice to internal stakeholders to mitigate risks and support business objectives.
• Act as a key legal partner within the organization, ensuring high standards of legal compliance and defense.
