Senior Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join a global organization that operates at the intersection of science, research, and financial stewardship. The role combines hands‑on accounting execution with analytical work, supporting accurate financial reporting, internal controls, and strategic decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and post general journal entries across multiple entities.
• Deliver timely management reports, including variance analysis and performance insights.
• Maintain and reconcile balance‑sheet accounts on a scheduled basis.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies in financial statements with internal and external stakeholders.
• Support payroll‑related accounting entries and ensure accurate compensation data.
• Coordinate tax‑related processes with external advisors and ensure timely data submission.
• Contribute to internal control design, documentation, and process‑improvement initiatives.
• Participate in cross‑functional finance projects such as system enhancements and financial analysis.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• 4‑6 years of progressive accounting experience in a corporate or global finance environment.
• CPA designation or working toward CPA is strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and ASPE accounting standards.
• Experience with financial reporting, reconciliations, and management accounting processes.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex functions.
• Experience with ERP systems and integrated accounting platforms.
• Use of financial reporting tools for management reporting.
• Ability to perform variance analysis and account reconciliations.
