Security Engineer – Cloud, Zscaler, Proofpoint & CrowdStrike

About the role

We are looking for a versatile Security Engineer to strengthen our cloud security posture. The role is based in Calgary with a hybrid schedule (3 days onsite) and focuses on designing, implementing, and managing security controls across multi‑cloud environments.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain security controls for AWS (required) and optionally Azure and GCP.
• Administer Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA) and Zscaler Private Access (ZPA), handling policy configuration, logging and troubleshooting.
• Manage Proofpoint email security, DLP, and threat‑intelligence workflows.
• Deploy and operate CrowdStrike Falcon for endpoint protection, EDR and incident response.
• Collaborate with DevOps and infrastructure teams to embed security into cloud workloads and CI/CD pipelines.
• Perform security event analysis, vulnerability assessments and support incident response activities.
• Develop automation scripts (Python, PowerShell, Bash) and integrate security tools across platforms.

Required profile

• 7+ years of experience in information security engineering with hands‑on cloud exposure.
• Strong knowledge of AWS security best practices; familiarity with Azure and/or GCP is a plus.
• Proven experience administering Zscaler and Proofpoint solutions.
• Direct experience with the full CrowdStrike suite.
• Solid scripting and automation skills.
• Excellent communication and ability to manage multiple priorities.
