Satellite TT&C/PDT Systems Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Satellite TT&C/PDT Systems Engineer to support the design, integration, verification, and operational support of telemetry, tracking, and command subsystems for current and next‑generation remote‑sensing and communications satellites. The role works across payload, ground‑segment, and mission‑operations teams to ensure reliable command delivery and high‑fidelity telemetry throughout the satellite lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Define functional architecture for command generation, uplink, telemetry downlink, onboard data handling, and RF front‑end systems.
• Conduct trade studies on modulation, coding, frequency plans, ranging, and link budgets.
• Develop system requirements, ICDs, and description documents with full traceability.
• Lead detailed design of TT&C hardware and software, including transceivers, RF front‑ends, antenna pointing, and health monitoring.
• Perform RF link‑budget, simulation, and error‑budget analysis using STK and MATLAB.
• Verify compliance with CCSDS, ECSS, ITU, and other regulatory standards.
• Create test plans, procedures, and verification matrices for unit, subsystem, and spacecraft‑level testing.
• Execute RF link, BER, command latency, and telemetry integrity testing.
• Support launch preparation, early‑orbit checkout, and real‑time command/telemetry operations.
• Mentor junior engineers and act as technical liaison with customers and vendors.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Aerospace, or related engineering.
• 8+ years of TT&C/PDT system design experience on LEO, MEO, or GEO platforms.
• Strong knowledge of CCSDS telemetry/telecommand standards, ECSS protocols, and ITU frequency regulations.
• Hands‑on experience with RF link‑budget analysis, S‑band, X‑band, and Ka‑band modem architectures.
• Proficiency with STK, MATLAB, Confluence, and JIRA.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English; French is a plus.
