Production Technician

About the role

Thornhill Medical is seeking a Production Technician to assemble, test, and troubleshoot electro‑mechanical medical devices. The role involves working with printed circuit boards, wiring harnesses, and mechanical components to ensure high‑quality products for emergency health care providers worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble devices according to technical drawings, diagrams, and work instructions.
• Perform functional testing and identify failures, providing corrective solutions.
• Manually solder and de‑solder surface‑mount components on PCBs.
• Build and verify cable harnesses and related assemblies.
• Assist in creating and updating work instructions and standard procedures.
• Maintain quality standards, follow documented processes, and perform additional manufacturing duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Diploma in electronic or mechanical engineering, or equivalent technical experience.
• 2‑3 years of experience in a medical device manufacturing environment.
• Experience with PCB assembly, surface‑mount soldering, and cable‑harness construction.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb, bend, and work in a production‑room setting.
• Willingness to travel occasionally.

Required skills

• Soldering and de‑soldering of surface‑mount electronic components.
• Printed circuit board assembly.
• Cable‑harness building.
• Mechanical assembly and dexterity.
• Knowledge of pneumatics (asset).
• Use of hand tools and laboratory equipment for electronics assembly.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 processes.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• IPC J‑STD‑001 certification (asset).

• Target base salary $50,000‑$55,000 per year.
