Procurement Coordinator

About the role

The Procurement Coordinator supports the Fleet & Facilities team by developing and executing strategic sourcing strategies across Matheson Constructors and its affiliates. The role ensures that essential materials, equipment, components, and services are available to keep operations running smoothly while maintaining competitive pricing and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Procure and expedite materials, equipment, and services required for repair, maintenance, and daily operations.
• Coordinate logistical arrangements for deliveries with the Fleet & Facilities team.
• Lead sourcing projects and develop strategic sourcing strategies to meet business needs.
• Issue RFIs/RFQs, negotiate contracts, and achieve optimal total cost of ownership.
• Support transactional purchasing activities and maintain accurate ERP data.
• Collaborate with Finance and Operations to establish contracts, pricing, and terms with key suppliers.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Conduct regular supplier meetings to improve service, quality, pricing, and lead times.
• Monitor vendor performance against expectations and maintain cross‑functional KPIs and scorecards.
• Develop inventory replenishment strategies, including minimum and maximum levels.
• Create risk‑management plans to address potential supply shortages or disruptions.
• Ensure purchasing activities comply with company policies, legal requirements, and SOPs.
• Identify and implement process‑improvement initiatives, including automation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, contract management, logistics, or a related area.
• Purchasing or Supply Chain certification is an asset.
• Experience with inventory control procedures is an asset.
• Construction industry experience is an asset.
