About the role

St. Augustine School in Ponoka, Alberta is seeking a probationary full‑time Secondary ELA/Social/Indigenous Lead Teacher. The appointment runs from August 27, 2026 to June 30, 2027 and supports the school’s faith‑filled, high‑quality education for over 750 students from Pre‑school through Grade 12.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver secondary English Language Arts, Social Studies and Indigenous curriculum as lead teacher.
• Coordinate and support co‑curricular and extra‑curricular programs where needed.
• Collaborate with fellow staff to maintain a Catholic learning environment.
• Participate in school events and community activities in Ponoka.

Required profile

• Eligibility to work as a full‑time teacher on a probationary basis.
• Certificate in Catholic Education from St. Joseph's College is an asset.
• Pastoral reference is optional but considered an asset.
• Current criminal record check (including vulnerable sector) and Alberta Children’s Services Intervention Record Check (both within the past six months).
