Private Home Child Caregiver (Full-time)

About the role

This position provides comprehensive child care and household support for a private family in Montréal. The caregiver will be responsible for the safety, well‑being, and daily routine of infants and children while the parents are away.

Key responsibilities

• Assume full responsibility for the household in the parents' absence, including light housekeeping and cleaning.
• Travel with the family on trips, supervising children and maintaining household duties on the road.
• Wash, iron, and press clothing and household linens.
• Bathe, dress, feed, and discipline infants and children according to parental guidelines.
• Instruct children in personal hygiene, social development, and organize games, outings, and educational activities.
• Prepare and serve nutritious meals and manage snack times.
• Maintain daily activity logs and health records for each child.
• Transport children to school, appointments, and extracurricular activities.
• Support children’s emotional well‑being, assist with homework, and provide bedtime routines.

Required profile

• 1–2 years of experience in child care, preferably in a private‑home setting.
• First Aid certification and a recent medical exam.
• Ability to work physically demanding tasks and repetitive duties.
• Strong attention to detail, reliability, and excellent communication skills.
• Willingness to travel regularly with the family and use public transportation.
