President & CEO – National Airlines Council of Canada

About the role

The President and Chief Executive Officer will lead the National Airlines Council of Canada (NACC), a key advocate for Canada’s major passenger airlines. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the CEO will shape advocacy, provide knowledge leadership, and guide the organization’s strategic and administrative functions.

Key responsibilities

• Strengthen NACC’s advocacy efforts and raise its national profile.
• Provide strategic guidance and administrative oversight to a small dedicated team.
• Monitor and engage in public‑policy discussions affecting aviation, including safety, security, environmental, labour and competition issues.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of regulations and public‑policy positions.
• Act as the primary spokesperson, managing stakeholder relationships and government engagement.

Required profile

• Proven persuasive and strategic leader with experience in government relations, advocacy, communications and public policy.
• Track record of building and managing strong stakeholder networks in industry, government or national associations.
• Collaborative executive comfortable working with a board to formulate and execute national aviation strategy.
• Excellent communicator with strong analytical abilities and deep understanding of policy and regulatory development.
• Bilingual in English and French and located near Ottawa.
