Pharmacy Assistant (Full‑Time, 1‑Year Contract)

About the role

The Pharmacy Assistant will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to support daily pharmacy operations. This full‑time, one‑year contract position involves processing prescription refills, handling third‑party billing, scheduling deliveries, and assisting with inventory and warehouse tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Enter and adjudicate prescriptions using the Kroll software, including tracking lot numbers and expiry dates.
• Communicate with patients to schedule medication deliveries and resolve insurance billing issues.
• Prepare prescription medications for pharmacist review, label accurately, and document lot and expiry information.
• Assist with compounding preparation, ensuring correct codes, quantities, and documentation.
• Maintain inventory levels, perform stock rotation, receive and store medications, and conduct physical inventories.
• Maintain pharmacy records, file prescriptions, and complete required paperwork in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders such as clinic staff, patient support programs, and scheduling teams.
• Support performance improvement, quality assurance activities, and a clean work environment.

Required profile

• Pharmacy Assistant Certificate or Diploma from an accredited institution.
• Ability to work under supervision of a pharmacist and follow federal, provincial and local regulations.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with patients and healthcare team members.
• Attention to detail for accurate data entry and medication preparation.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Kroll prescription software.
