About the role

Join Canada Post as an on‑call relief Rural and Suburban Mail Carrier, delivering mail across various communities while enjoying the open road as your office. This temporary position offers flexible, on‑demand work for individuals who thrive in independent, outdoor environments.

Key responsibilities

• Sort, collect, and deliver mail items safely and on time.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of local roads, customers, and delivery receptacles.
• Secure mail in possession and process CPC products such as Change of Address notifications, damaged mail reports, and Items Delivered Bills.
• Wear Canada Post identification visibly while delivering and collecting mail.
• Lift and carry items up to 50 lb (22.7 kg) and handle oversized parcels using a suitable vehicle.

Required profile

• Dependable and organized individual who enjoys working independently.
• Experience delivering mail or packages and operating a motor vehicle in all weather and traffic conditions.
• Valid permanent provincial driver’s licence (class 5 or G) with a satisfactory safe‑driving record.
• Own a vehicle that meets Canada Post specifications, including cargo capacity of at least 50 cu ft, automatic transmission, power windows, and a roof‑top accessory outlet.

• Ability to lift and transport items up to 50 lb.
