Nurse Practitioner – Internal Medicine (Part‑time)

About the role

Join Vancouver Coastal Health as a part‑time Nurse Practitioner within the Internal Medicine team at Vancouver General Hospital. You will work in a dynamic, team‑based environment caring for complex adult patients and benefit from strong clinical mentorship and collaboration.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, diagnose diseases and disorders, and initiate appropriate treatment plans.
• Prescribe medications in accordance with statutory and regulatory standards.
• Provide professional guidance to other health professionals and work autonomously within interdisciplinary teams.
• Collaborate with clinicians, pharmacists and allied health to identify health trends and develop evidence‑based population strategies.
• Participate in quality‑improvement activities, policy‑making, Morbidity & Mortality rounds and peer review processes.
• Maintain professional competence, active medical staff privileges and report to the Operational Director, Professional Practice.

Required profile

• Current registration as a Nurse Practitioner with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives.
• At least two years of experience in internal medicine or a related clinical setting (preferred).
• Motivated to engage in teaching, professional growth and collaborative practice.

Required skills

• Point‑of‑care ultrasound (POCUS) proficiency (supported and encouraged).
