Mechanical Manufacturing Engineer – Hybrid (Burnaby)

About the role

Kardium is seeking a Mechanical Manufacturing Engineer to join its Manufacturing Engineering team in Burnaby, BC. This hybrid position will support the production of the FDA‑approved Globe® Pulsed Field System, a breakthrough medical device for treating atrial fibrillation.

Key responsibilities

• Define, develop business cases and implement equipment and process improvements for current and next‑generation products.
• Plan capacity, equipment, and infrastructure needs for new production lines and scale‑up activities.
• Design manufacturing floor layouts to maximize efficiency and manage equipment design, fabrication, qualification, and implementation.
• Lead design and workflow reviews, analyze cycle‑time trends and remove bottlenecks.
• Collaborate with design and quality engineering to root‑cause quality issues and drive corrective actions.
• Identify workstation utility requirements and develop WIP and finished‑goods storage solutions.
• Provide DFM input, act as a process SME, and support technician training.

Required profile

• Broad knowledge of production processes in a regulated medical‑device environment.
• Experience acting as the first point of contact for manufacturing feedback and problem resolution.
• Proven ability to optimize workflow, increase throughput and yield.
• Strong project‑management skills to triage, design, and implement process‑enhancement projects.
