Materials Technician

About the role

Allnorth is seeking a Field Materials Technician to support concrete, aggregate, and soil testing on construction projects across North West British Columbia and surrounding areas. You will work closely with the Field Lead, performing both laboratory and on‑site testing while ensuring safety and quality standards are met.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Field Lead in conducting field and laboratory testing of aggregate, soils, and concrete.
• Perform a variety of lab materials testing and field testing procedures.
• Mentor new and junior employees and help maintain laboratory certifications.
• Communicate test results and provide technical advice to internal staff and external clients.
• Collaborate with cross‑discipline teams to meet project schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
• Ensure safety guidelines are followed in both lab and field environments.
• Coordinate field equipment and conduct routine instrument maintenance and calibration.

Required profile

• Completion of a Civil Engineering Technology diploma (asset, not required).
• At least 1 + years of progressive experience in lab and field materials testing.
• CCIL and/or CSA certification preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively in a multi‑disciplined team.
• Strong attention to detail and technical competence.
