Manufacturing Operations Supervisor

About the role

The Manufacturing Operations Supervisor leads front‑line production teams at JELD‑WEN’s Winnipeg plant. Reporting to the Production Manager, the role focuses on safety, quality, and continuous improvement to meet production targets.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute production plans to meet efficiency targets.
• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with health‑and‑safety policies.
• Deliver hands‑on safety training to staff.
• Monitor team performance, hold employees accountable, and track attendance via digital timekeeping.
• Support employee development through coaching, training, and feedback.
• Lead continuous‑improvement initiatives and implement manufacturing processes.
• Plan labor needs based on production demand.

Required profile

• Post‑secondary education or equivalent management experience.
• 3–5 years of manufacturing leadership experience.
• Experience in a unionized environment (asset).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Knowledge of windows and doors manufacturing (asset).
• Strong problem‑solving and root‑cause analysis skills.
• Willingness to learn hands‑on to support training and mentorship.
• Experience with LEAN and continuous improvement (asset).
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in a diverse workplace.
• Strong time‑management ability in a fast‑paced setting.
• Familiarity with UKG Dimensions or similar timekeeping systems (asset).
• Mechanical aptitude and ERP/data‑management experience (assets).
