Manufacturing Engineer – Langley, BC

About the role

John Deere is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support our Specialty Products plant in Langley, BC. You will enable assembly, paint, and material‑handling teams to produce high‑quality forestry tracked equipment safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Review engineering BOMs, 3D models and quality specifications to translate design intent into manufacturing processes.
• Create detailed work instructions using Creo, NX, VisView, SAP, MPPlanner, AutoCAD and PowerPoint.
• Drive continuous‑improvement initiatives such as 5S, Kaizen and SCRs.
• Develop cost‑effective tooling solutions, sourcing purchased items or designing custom tools.
• Collaborate with Supply Management and Material Handling to plan logistics for line delivery.
• Establish routings, Sequence of Events, line balances, layouts, tooling, assembly costs, Operator Method Sheets and control plans.
• Address quality issues through root‑cause analysis and mistake‑proofing, working with design, quality, maintenance and other functions.
• Support the analysis, development and implementation of new manufacturing processes aligned with the Smart Connect Factory strategy.

Required profile

• Experience in a manufacturing environment with solid knowledge of assembly processes, quality, tooling and safety.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with both salaried and union‑represented personnel.
• Familiarity with shop‑floor documentation such as Sequence of Events, Labor Standards and Operator Method Sheets.
