Managing Director of Finance & Accounting (Hybrid)

About the role

The Managing Director of Finance & Accounting is a senior leader responsible for the financial health, sustainability and risk management of a complex, multi‑entity real‑estate portfolio. Reporting to the Executive Director, this hybrid role works closely with development, housing operations and executive teams to advance the mission of delivering permanently affordable housing across British Columbia.

Key responsibilities

• Provide enterprise‑wide financial leadership across development, redevelopment, acquisitions, refinancing and long‑term portfolio management.
• Shape strategic decisions, lead financing and capital planning, and ensure strong governance and reporting.
• Build and maintain relationships with lenders, funders and partners to secure financing and support community impact.
• Oversee risk management, internal controls and compliance across all entities.
• Translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights for the executive team and board.

Required profile

• CPA designation (required) with a degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 10+ years of progressive senior leadership experience in finance or accounting.
• Experience in real‑estate, housing, development, construction or other asset‑heavy environments.
• Exposure to non‑profit, co‑operative or public‑interest organisations is an asset.
• Collaborative leadership style with the ability to influence at executive and board level.
