Long-Term Occasional Math Teacher (Preston HS)

About the role

The Waterloo Region District School Board is seeking a qualified Mathematics teacher for three Long‑Term Occasional (LTO) sections (1.0 FTE) at Preston High School. The assignment runs from September 2, 2026 through February 2, 2027, with September 4, 2026 designated as an unpaid, non‑teaching day.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver the secondary Mathematics curriculum to assigned classes in accordance with Ontario Ministry of Education standards.
• Prepare lesson plans, assessments, and instructional materials for each LTO section.
• Maintain accurate student records, grades, and attendance logs.
• Collaborate with school staff and support the school’s equity and inclusion initiatives.
• Adapt instruction as needed and may be assigned in whole or in part at the school’s discretion.

Required profile

• Hold a valid Ontario Certificate of Qualification (OCQ) in Mathematics.
• Be listed on the WRDSB Secondary Occasional Teacher roster or be an external applicant.
• Not be currently assigned to a position that extends into the LTO period.
• Submit a resume and a copy of the current OCQ through Apply to Education by the posted deadline.

Required skills

• Valid Ontario Certificate of Qualification in Mathematics.
