Legal Counsel

About the role

Join a leading Canadian pharmacy and health‑wellness retailer as an in‑house Legal Counsel in Toronto. You will support a diverse portfolio that includes pharmacy, healthcare, wellness and specialty services, working closely with business stakeholders and specialized enterprise legal groups.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate commercial, technology and healthcare agreements such as SaaS, data‑sharing, supply, distribution and professional services contracts.
• Advise business units on pharmacy, healthcare and health‑profession regulatory matters.
• Support strategic initiatives, smaller‑scale M&A transactions and operational matters across affiliated businesses.
• Provide practical, business‑oriented legal and risk‑management advice.
• Partner with cross‑functional teams on technology contracting, privacy‑adjacent issues and digital initiatives.
• Manage relationships with external counsel when required.
• Contribute to the development of legal templates, processes and operational efficiencies.

Required profile

• Member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
• 2‑4 years post‑call experience at a leading law firm or sophisticated in‑house legal department.
• Strong corporate/commercial drafting and negotiation experience.
• Experience with technology agreements, SaaS, privacy, data‑sharing or healthcare/pharmacy matters is a strong asset.
• Exposure to regulatory, corporate commercial and M&A work preferred.
• Bay Street training or comparable in‑house experience at a major organization.
• Excellent organizational, prioritization and project‑management skills.
