Legal Counsel (Canada)

About the role

This position offers a legal professional the chance to work on complex international business operations within a dynamic, globally connected environment in Canada. You will provide commercial, corporate, employment, and regulatory support while collaborating closely with cross‑functional teams and senior legal leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Support legal operations across commercial, corporate, and regulatory matters, delivering practical guidance to internal stakeholders.
• Assist senior legal leadership with a variety of commercial, corporate, and operational legal issues.
• Structure and help implement international commercial and corporate transactions.
• Draft, review, and negotiate customer, supplier, financing, and other commercial agreements.
• Provide legal support on labour, employment, and immigration matters as needed.
• Assess legal and operational risks and contribute to mitigation strategies.
• Analyze laws, regulations, and compliance requirements and advise business teams.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support business initiatives and operational decisions.
• Contribute to contract management, legal documentation, and corporate governance activities.
• Conduct legal research and offer practical recommendations on complex issues.

Required profile

• Law degree from a recognized university.
• Membership in good standing with a recognized Bar association.
• 1 to 5 years of experience in commercial law, corporate law, or related practice areas.
• Strong drafting, negotiation, analytical, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and French.
• Collaborative mindset with capacity to work independently and within cross‑functional teams.
