Houseperson – Part‑time Hospitality Support

About the role

We are looking for a reliable Houseperson to join our team at a Sandman Hotel in Vancouver on a part‑time basis. The role supports the housekeeping and maintenance teams to ensure guest areas are clean, safe and welcoming.

Key responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, wax and wash floors; dust furniture.
• Make beds, change sheets and towels, stock linen closets.
• Attend to guest requests for extra supplies and clean public areas such as changing rooms, showers and pool.
• Wash windows, walls and ceilings; pick up debris and empty trash containers.
• Perform outdoor tasks: weeding, mowing, hedge trimming, leaf clean‑up, planting, power washing and painting.
• Assist housekeepers and move furniture or storage boxes as needed.
• Report safety hazards, maintenance issues and security concerns promptly.
• Handle cleaning chemicals safely and maintain equipment in proper condition.

Required profile

• No prior education or experience required; training provided.
• Ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively.
• Professional appearance and manners.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb.
• WHMIS knowledge is an asset.
• Capable of interacting with guests sensitively and diplomatically.
